Live A More Mindful Life

In a world full of distractions, we all could be a little more present in our daily lives — truly living in the moment and appreciating what we have.

Our upcoming Mindfulness Retreat Oct. 13-14 at Sycamore Spa is a great way to start on that path, or continue your journey. Hosted by yoga and meditation teacher Elizabeth Gosselin, it’s open to both locals and resort guests, from beginners to seasoned students.

In the meantime, here are three tips to help you live more mindfully each and every day:

1. Start small. You don’t have to meditate for an hour, or even 15 minutes. Taking just a few minutes for yourself, eliminating distractions and clearing your mind, can be incredibly beneficial.

2. Dream big. When you’ve got a little more time, find a peaceful place and get comfortable. Close your eyes. Feel gratitude for what you have in life now, and think about your hopes and dreams, where you want your life to be.

3. Be consistent. Whether it’s a few minutes or an hour, carve out time each and every day to put yourself first and reflect on the good things in your life. Ditch your phone, turn off the TV and just be alone with your thoughts. You’ll be surprised how much of a difference it can make.
